Moving Day With a Side of Ice-Cream

Ami was moving out of her apartment - Dad was celebrating his birthday.  I'm sure you can imagine what type of day HE was having.  Let me paint a brief picture [ at least what I walked in on] of his afternoon:  It's HOT out - Ami's apartment is in the basement of the building - there's a tiny walkway that isn't forgiving to large furniture items,  (i.e. the couch that took three of us to shove out the door, around the corner & up OVER the lovely hosta plants that I prolly would've let get mushed, but Ma noticed the landlord approaching & quickly hoisted up the bottom end of the couch in order to save the plants.... & us from being fined??? lol)  Everybody was hot, tired & crabby...  Ami & Harper were both under the weather, while my other three children were somewhere underfoot - most likely in the mud or courtyard flower beds.  Yikes

But there's joy...  And it's called root beer floats & cookie dough ice-cream! :-)  We couldn't let Dad's birthday go un-noticed, so we all beat the heat at Culver's - & I think everyone was quite satisfied.  Happy Birthday to the best Dad/Bumpa ever!  We love you!

Eden Birthday Continued...

The little girls with Grandma Lindy - Ring Around The Rosie.
Just something about this picture that I loved...
Just had to get a picture of those darling curls!  I ♥ them!
Generations - & Harper, who spilled a bottle of bubbles all over her shirt!
There's that little princess I was telling you about - all dolled up... jumping off the deck into her daddy's arms.
Such a wonderful day for a birthday party!  Couldn't have asked for better weather - couldn't have been blessed with a better family!  ♥ you all...

Eden Celebrates SIX! ♥

Yes - My baby is SIX years old.  And as our babies continue to grow right out from under us - we parents mull the same question over & over:  Where has the time gone?  Lydia - our two year old - is in this pretty/frilly/princess phase where every outfit she wears HAS to be a dress paired with sparkly shoes.  (Tonight she was actually in tears, fearful that she might not have a clean dress to wear tomorrow... ) See - this was my Eden...  oh, about 3 years ago:  sweet smelling, bouncy curls in the summer humidity, princess dresses with dazzling shoes.  Now, she's traded all that in for t-shirts flip flops, ball gloves & baseball caps, girlfriends & slumber parties, etc. (Soon it will be BOYS!!  Yikes!)  Gosh - they really do grow up fast.  But, in the midst of all the changes/struggles/joys Eden's encountered over these past six years - I will continue to love & admire every phase of her life as if it's the most important thing in the world - because that's what she is to me.  Happy Birthday, my Beautiful Baby Girl.

We had the party this past weekend at Mom & Dad's in Piper... It's more of a central location for everyone - & the kids love the yard/trees & animals.  These are a few of my favorite candid shots... There's a good chance I'm going to have to make this a double blog entry!

Lydia & Aunt Ami were among the first to test out the new tree swing!

Harper got in on the action, too... with an upside down bat!  She had a blast, though.  Just look at that face!

Never too busy for a "bumpa" snuggle. ♥

The birthday girl!  Think she's having fun??  I do

I ♥ Faces - Flowers & Faces Photo Contest

Just thought it would be neat to actually enter a photo contest!  I've never done it before - unless entering a photo at the Ford Co. Fair counts! :-)  I'm using a photo taken of our Liddy a few years ago...  The yellow flowers make for a charming backdrop; so bright & colorful.  Check out more Flowers/Faces pictures at I ♥ faces.  -Bri
